Abstract

Voltammetric reduction on a hanging mercury electrode in aprotic and anhydrous medium was performed for a series of azobenzene dyes. The effects of substituent s on both the aromatic rings and the N,N-diethylamino chain have been investigated, thus yielding correlations of reduction potentials with absorption maxima of dyes and their 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) chemical shifts.
