Abstract

To study the expression of alexithymia and establish its relationship with carbohydrate metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes if NAFLD and obesity were examined 55 patients with type 2 diabetes in combination with NAFLD the stage presence of steatosis and obesity. The average age of patients was (57.74 ± 1.16) years, duration of diabetes — (9.07 ± 0.72) years. Severity of alexithymia was assessed by the Toronto alexithymia scale (TAS-26). The study found that among patients with type 2 diabetes in combination with NAFLD the stage steatosis, alexithymia found in 25 % of cases. Women suffering from type 2 diabetes in combination with NAFLD the stage presence of steatosis and obesity can be attributed to risk alexithymia. In patients with type 2 diabetes in combination with NAFLD the stage presence of steatosis and obesity, found a direct relationship between severity of alexithymia and compensation of carbohydrate metabolism. In this group of patients alexithymia can be considered additional clinical manifestation of encephalopathy. In order to improve treatment and prevent the development and progression of complications of type 2 diabetes must take into account the peculiarities of the psychological profile and emotional state that can be detected in patients with simple and affordable questionnaires, such as Toronto alexithymia scale.
