Abstract
In defining the essence of and trends in the work of the Pioneer organization, the Komsomol and leading representatives of pedagogical science have staunchly defended the ideological link and continuity between the children's organization and the party and Komsomol. The Pioneer organization developed under the leadership of the Komsomol as a mass political amateur organization of children and adolescents, as the source of replacements and reserves for the All-Union Komsomol. The Communist Party has given the Komsomol extensive support in directing the Pioneer movement via the general public, public education bodies, and pedagogical science.
