Abstract

Wings of flying insects produce extremely low frequency (ELF) radio emissions. These radio emissions are detectable with a tune radio frequency radio receiver. The insect's right and left wings do not always move at the same velocity, therefore, different ELF radio frequencies are produced. ELF radio frequencies have been shown to pump (put energy into) insect semiochemicals in the infrared portion of the electromagnetic spectrum. The ELF radio frequencies are related to the far-infrared emission of such insect.
