Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of Annexin A2 and Osteopontin (OPN) in breast cancer tissues and its relationship with pathogenesis of breast cancer. Methods The expression of Annexin A2 and OPN was examined by using immunohistochemical method in 50 cases of human breast cancer tissues and non-cancerous adjacent breast tissues (5 cm away from the margin of breast cancer). Results The positive expression rate of Annexin A2 in breast cancer tissues was 82.00%,and that in non-cancerous adjacent breast tissues was 36.00% (P <0.01).The overexpression of Annexin A2 was related to histologic grade,TNM stage and lymph node metastasis (P < 0.05).The positive expression rate of OPN in breast cancer tissues was 74.00%,and that in non-cancerous adjacent breast tissues was 22.00% (P < 0.01).The expression of OPN was closely related with TNM stage and lymph node metastasis of breast cancer (P < 0.05).Conclusion The overexpression of Annexin A2 and OPN might be correlated with the biological behaviors of breast cancer. Key words: Annexin A2 ; Osteopontin ; Breast carcinoma
