Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the relationship between woman empowerment (participation of decision making in the family, mobility, and attitude to domestic violence) and the use of contraception in Pasarwajo District of Buton Regency. The research was an observational study with cross sectional design. The populations were childbearing age couples living in Pasarwajo District in 2016. The samples consisted of 320 childbearing age couples selected using stratified random sampling method. The data were obtained through interview using questionnaires. The data were analyzed and the hypothesis was tested using univariate analysis with frequency distribution, bivariate analysis with chi square test, and multivariate analysis with multiple logistic regression test. The result of the research indicate that there are 274 respondents (86%) who have high participation in decision making in the family, there are 304 respondents (95%) who do not have mobility, and 293 respondents (92%) do not support domestic violence. The result of chi square test indicates that there is a correlation between participation of decision making in the family (p=0,002) and mobility (p=0,021) and the use of contraception.
