Abstract

Aim: Several studies have quantified the ventilation volumes, smaller than anatomical dead space, produced by chest compressions (CCs) during CPR. Other studies have analyzed the artefact caused by CCs in the capnogram. However, no relationship between volume and artefact has been assessed yet. In this study, we explored the relationship between ventilation volumes generated by CCs and the oscillations observed in the capnogram plateau during CPR.
