Abstract
The seven-component pheromone of Heliothis virescens (F.) was used as bait in a cone or TP 75–50 trap to monitor adult moths in South Carolina. A direct relationship was found between the number of H. virescens (F.) moths captured by using pheromone traps and egg counts in cotton fields. Pheromone traps effectively monitored population fluctuation of H. virescens during 1979 and 1980.
