Abstract

Objective To investigate the relationship between subclinical atherosclerosis and basal C-peptide level in type 2 diabetic mellitus (T2DM) patients. Methods There were 80 T2DM patients checked arterials in carotid by ultrasonography. The intima-media thickness (IMT),basal C-peptide and other clinical values were collected and analyzed statistically. Results Patients in subclinical atherosclerosis group were older, whose FCP,HbA1c,cholesterol (CHOL),and LDL-C increased higher than patients in non subclinical atherosclerosis group, and the difference was statistically significant.Meanwhile the variance of Logistic regression were age,smoking,FCP,HbA1c and CHOL.Conclusions Higher basal Cpeptide level were risk factor of subclinical atherosclerosis in type 2 diabetic mellitus patients. Key words: Type 2 diabetic mellitus; Subclinical atherosclerosis; C-peptide
