Abstract

Smart City and Smart Tourism have gained popularity in recent years, but research in Smart Tourism Cities has not fully covered their development. This study aims to explore the latest literature on Smart City and Smart Tourism, examining their roles in achieving sustainable and competitive tourism through advanced design. The study presents the relationship between Smart City and Tourism, mapping the current situation and potential growth of Asian tourism through Smart Cities. Recent studies show that Smart Cities play a crucial role in developing tourist destinations. Smart Tourist Cities result from the convergence of Smart and Tourist Cities, using technology to improve the quality of life, urban services, and meet social, cultural, and economic needs. Limitations include a narrow scope, only covering research articles on Google Scholar, and not covering other literature aspects such as authorship, co-writing, big data, and virtual reality.
