Abstract

This research is motivated by the low level of children's learning motivation at home in Teratai Indah, this is presumably due to the relatively low attention of parents on children's education. This study aims to: 1) describe the attention of parents on children's education; 2) describe children's learning motivation at home; 3) look at the relationship between parental attention to children's education and children's motivation to learn at home in Teratai Indah. This type of research is quantitative research with correlational descriptive technique. The population in this study were school-age children in Teratai Indah as many as 35 people and a sample of 18 people. Data collection techniques in the form of a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used the percentage formula and Spearman rho correlation. The results of this study indicate that: (1) Parents' attention to children's education is categorized as low. This is evidenced by the answers of respondents to the questionnaire who answered the statement sometimes. (2) Children's learning motivation at home is categorized as low. This is evidenced by the answers of respondents to the questionnaire who answered the statement sometimes. (3) The results of data processing show that there is a significant relationship between parental attention to children's education and children's motivation to learn at home in Teratai Indah. It is hoped that parents can pay more attention to their children's education.Keywords: Parental attention, learning motivation
