Abstract

Human ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2C (UBE2C), a member of E2 enzyme family of ubiquitin-proteasome pathway, plays an important role in maintaining the cell cycle running normally by regula-ting the cyclical variation of cyclin A and eyelin B. The N terminus of the UBE2C controls the threshold for ana-phase-promoting complex(APC)activation and enhances checkpoint regulation of the APC. Otherwise, the cell cycle-dependent expression of UBE2C is regulated by APC. UBE2C overexpressed in many kinds of tumor cell lines and tissues is closely related to the development, proliferation, transformation and malignant degree of cancer. UBE2C may be regarded as a new diagnostic and therapeutic target. Key words: Human ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme; Cell cycle; Neoplasms
