Abstract

HPV has been implicated in the development of HNSCC and HPV(+) tumors generally have better prognosis than HPV(-) tumors. EGFR expression has been shown to correlate with worse local control and survival in HNSCC. The primary objective of this study was to relate HPV status to EGFR expression and activation (phosphorylation status). The secondary objective was to evaluate the clinical outcome relative to HPV status.
