Abstract

ABSTRACTPrevious research has documented the therapeutic effects of antidepressant medications on chronic headaches, implying the etiological role of depression in some headache. Clinical experience indicates patients suffering from chronic headaches frequently become depressed because of the refractory head pain. The current study demonstrated that reduction of headaches leads to reduction of depression, implying the etiological role of headaches in depression. The need to further clarify the relation between depression and headaches is emphasized.
