Abstract

This study was conducted for the purpose of preparing a counseling intervention plan in the career and academic fields of college students related to career stress by verifying the parallel multiple mediating effect of career decision-making self-efficacy and academic delay in the relationship between evaluation concern perfectionism and career stress. To this end, a survey was conducted on 210 college students sampled through online communities using Google, of which 203 data were used for analysis. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 and PROCESS Macro 3.5. The results of the study are as follows. First, as a result of correlation analysis, it was found that perfectionism of evaluation concerns had a positive correlation with career stress, career decision-making self-efficacy, and academic delay. Career stress was negatively correlated with career decision-making self-efficacy and positively correlated with academic delay. There was a negative correlation between career decision-making self-efficacy and academic delay. Second, it was found that career decision-making self-efficacy and academic delay had a partial mediating effect in the relationship between evaluation concern perfectionism and career stress. Based on the results of this study, limitations and suggestions for follow-up studies were discussed.
