Relationship between eddy current losses and equivalent number of domain walls in polycrystalline and amorphous soft magnetic materials and its application to minor loop loss estimation

Abstract

A relationship between eddy current losses and a new parameter which is thought to represent an equivalent number of barlike domain walls in various soft magnetic materials is described. Eddy current losses are inversely proportional to the parameter regardless of the composition, dimensions, or heat treatment of the materials. The relationship makes it possible to estimate minor loop losses.
