Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between body composition profile and basic futsal skills in elite female futsal players. To this end, 45 players (mean age, 19 to 30 years) of both Vahdat and National Iranian Drilling Company super league teams of Ahwaz and National Iranian Drilling Company first division team of Ahwaz were selected purposefully (available). The body composition characteristics of height, weight, body fat percentage and body mass index (BMI) and basic futsal skills of control, ball keeping, dribble, pass and shooting were investigated. Body composition meter has been used for measuring body composition characteristics of height, weight, body fat percentage and body mass index. The AAHPERD and Moore-Christian tests were also used for measuring basic skills of futsal and then using SPSS software data were analyzed. The results showed that there is no relationship between factors of body combination (height, weight, body fat percentage and body mass index) and basic skills such as control and shooting. But there is a negative and meaningful relationship between body fat percentage and dribble skill i.e. by increasing this component, the performance of subjects weaken.
