Abstract

By using “Möllenstedt-type electron interference microscope and a usual (HS-6) or a high resolution (HU-11B) electron microscope with a pointed cathode, the relation between coherence of electron beam and the contrast of electron image of biological substances was studied. As a result, it was confirmed that the image contrast of all specimens examined here became larger in the case where the electron beam of large γ12 compared with that of small γ12 was used. The results obtained were briefly discussed.
