Abstract
Greenberg and Jenkins' (1964) S and language values for their List I CCVCs were hypothesized to correlate significantly with 4 measures related to the acquisition of the correct pronunciation of the CCVCs by 30 Ss. Mean scale values were computed for each CCVC for each of the 4 measures. The range of correlations of the 4 sets of scale values with corresponding S and language distance values is .71 to .97 (disregarding sign), with the median at .89. The hypothesis remains tenable.
