Abstract

The morphology and structure of blends of Nylon6/LDPE, Nylon6/Surlyn, Nylon6/LDPE/Surlyn, and Nylon6/LDPE/LDPE-g-AA have been studied by scanning electron microscopy, permitting determination of the size of the dispersed phase (particles) and distribution of particles. The structure parameters, including the invariant (Q), varying lengths (l¯ ), correlation distance (a c ), average chord lengths (l¯ 1 (or2)), radius of gyration (Rg ), and Porod's index (α), have been calculated from small-angle x-ray scattering (SAXS) data. The phase structure in the blends has been characterized using one of the structure parameters.
