Abstract

It is demonstrated that the average charged multiplicity (< n ch >) and transverse momentum (< p T >) of produced particles in hadron-hadron collisions at very high energies (\(\sqrt{s}\)) have a simple relation of \(\langle n_{\text{ch}}\rangle^{2}\langle p_{\text{T}}\rangle/\sqrt{s}{=}\text{constant}\) (=0.70±0.05) in the generalized Fermi-Landau statistical and hydrodynamical model. The relation is satisfied remarkably well by the experimental data up to the SPS p-\barp Collider energies and will soon be tested by Tevatron Collider experiments.
