Abstract

Phase transformations in titanium alloys cannot always be determined by methods of diffraction analysis because the type of structure depends considerably on the form of heat treatment and the alloying elements. It is more expedient to judge the structural state and phase transformations in these alloys be the changes in their physical and mechanical properties in relation to the composition and the heat treatment. The present paper is devoted to a study of the phase equilibrium and some physical properties of titanium alloys of the Ti−W−Zr−Al system with a constant content of tungsten (6%) and zirconium (3%) and a variable content of aluminum (0–20%).
