Abstract

Objective To observe the macular area retinal photoreceptor cell layer IS/OS connection change with DME patients by OCT, and to analyze its relationship with the vision. Methods DME patients of 155 cases (310 eyes) diagnosed by Haigang hospital from July 2014 to December 2015 by OCT were reviewed, macular foveal thickness and morphological changes in the macular area IS/OS connection were observed, observations and best corrected vision were analyzed using SPSS19.0 software. Results DME patients with macular foveal thickness and macular area IS/OS connection defect length were positive related (r=0.901, P=0.000), macular foveal thickness and best corrected vision were negative correlation (r=-0.629, P=0.000), IS/OS connection defect length and best corrected vision were negative correlation (r=-0.729, P=0.000). The best corrected vision and macular foveal thickness of any IS/OS defect length group were statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusions DME patients of macular area IS/OS connection change have a certain relationship with best corrected vision. To estimate the patient's vision, disease prognosis and follow-up, IS/OS connection change has certain guiding significance. Key words: Diabetic macular edema (DME); Optical coherence tomography (OCT); Retinal photoreceptor cell layer IS/OS; Macular foveal thickness
