Abstract

Objective To investigate the risk factors of stroke recurrence in patients with primary ischemic stroke. Methods A total of 311 patients with primary ischemic stroke who were admitted into the Department of Neurology of Jincheng People’s Hospital from January 2014 to March 2015 were selected, the baseline data (gender, age, smoking history and history of alcohol intake), comorbidity, drug compliance were analyzed statistically to evaluate the correlation between different indicators and recurrence of stroke. Results Of 311 patients with primary ischemic stroke, 45 patients had recurrence and 266 patients had not relapsed. Univariate analysis showed that hypertension, hyperhomocysteinemia and poor medication compliance were related factors of stroke recurrence (P<0.05); multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that hypertension, hyperhomocysteinemia and poor medication compliance were independent risk factors of stroke recurrence. Conclusions The main risk factors for stroke recurrence in patients with ischemic stroke are hypertension, hyperhomocysteinemia and poor medication compliance. Key words: First onset; Ischemic stroke; Recurrence
