Abstract
This study presents the organizational context of aeronautical maintenance area documents, as well as the specificities and characteristics of the Technical Publications used in the Brazilian Air Force and their relation to flight safety. The purpose of this research is to describe the information on aeronautical maintenance and to highlight the importance of the use of technical publications by technicians when carrying out maintenance activities. The methodology adopted was the documentary analysis and it was divided into three stages: the reading of the Technical Publications; the reading of the Aeronautics Command manuals, and the collective and data analysis of the research reports issued by the Center for Research and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents in the year 2017. It is concluded that the correct use of Technical Publications is essential for the success of maintenance activities which directly impacts on flight safety.
