Abstract
Noam Chomsky is considered one of the greatest thinkers of the 20th century, and his contribution to Language is evident. The article analyses a possible dialogue between Transformational Generative Grammar, Chomsky's generativism and innatism, and the Knowledge Organization. By establishing epistemological and disciplinary relations with Knowledge Organization, Transformational Generative Grammar highlights the creative aspect of those who are building a given System, which in turn requires the incorporation of documentary languages, thesauriand ontologies, among other elements, for example. When designing these systems, in addition to knowledge of the social contextin which the subject is culturally inserted, the designer must have solid knowledge of the main relationships between that community and its main informationalneeds. For future analyses, this research will discuss in depth the relationship between Chomsky's Transformational Generative Grammar and Knowledge Organization for the development of documentary languages.
