User satisfaction establishes loyalty with the health care provider, favoring the negotiation process, fulfilling the indications and obtaining the expected treatment results. Objective: Determine the relationship between user satisfaction and adherence to treatment in type 2 diabetics, enrolled in the Bellavista community health center in the municipality of Tome, during 2009-2010. Materials and Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out, using the Survey of User Satisfaction in Primary Health Care and the Morisky Green Test, in order to obtain information on user perception and adherence to treatment, respectively. Additionally, complementary information was obtained from health records. The information was processing using SPSS 15, and the relationships between variables were determined with Pearson's Correlation. Conclusions: User satisfaction is positively and significantly related to adherence to treatment, with a linear association of 20% to 23% approximately, in four of the five dimensions: reliability (r=0.191); accessibility (r=0.204); response capacity (r=0.227) and empathy (r=0.226), with a 95% and 99% level of confidence.
