Rekreasyon Bilim Dalının Geçmişten Günümüze Bibliyometrik Analizi

Abstract

The main purpose of study is to examine the researches published in the field of recreation in the period 1980-2019 with bibliometric perspective and to determine the trends in this field in the last 39 years. In this context, the Web of Science database was searched out under the title of recreation within the scope of ‘hospitality, leisure and toruism’. In the research, number of publications, types of publications, publication languages, country collaborations, citation analysis, common citation networks and word-subject trends were analyzed. Social network analysis was used to reveal the situation within the extant literature confined through research purpose. According to the results, it can be said that interest in the field in the context of recreation publications has increased significantly since 2010. The majority of publications type is article.The language in which the publications are written mostly is English (96%). There is no publication in Turkish language.It has been found that America plays an important role in the country’s collaborations. While the average number of citations per publication in the field of recreation is 7.99, the average number of citations per year is 519. Recreation and specialization in active recreation is the most studied subjects in the field. It has been concluded that the most used words in the studies are recreation, entertainment and outdoor recreation. The words with high centrality are experience, resources and participation.
