Abstract

The basic Buste Houder pattern can be the basis for making patterns for various Buste Houder models, but also forms the basis for making other liner clothing patterns. Based on observations on the Buste Houder basic pattern making practicum, it is known that respondents often find it difficult, because the making of the Buste Houder basic pattern has a high level of difficulty with complex size comparison provisions formulas. In general, this study aims to develop the material for making Buste Houder's basic patterns, to increase competence in making liner clothing patterns. This study uses a descriptive method with a Research and Development approach. This reconstruction study will be carried out in three stages, namely: (1) preliminary study, (2) pattern development, and (3) pattern testing. Preliminary study activities: (a) literature study, (b) identification of the characteristics of the basic pattern making material Buste Houder (c) Study the learning of lining pattern making. The model development stage: (a) Designing the reconstruction of the Buste Houder archetype, (b) Testing the Buste Houder archetype, (d) Evaluating and completing the pattern. Produce a basic pattern of Buste Houder's Practical System by using the type of size for the Buste Houder pattern with structured and simpler formulas for size comparison provisions, in order to obtain the proper Buste Houder basic pattern making technique, easy to learn and understand and fit the wearer's body.
