Abstract
Studies on rejuvenation for reviving old vineyards vis-a-vis making old vineyards productive once again were conducted in Perlette vines which were more than 20 years old. Four rejuvenation treatments comprised of removal of vines at one feet level from ground level; removal of vine at one feet below bower; removal of primary arms leaving one feet stubs and control vines without rejuvenation. From the experimental data, It can be con-cluded that, the old ‘Perlette’ vines can be successfully rejuvenated by heading back the primary arms (2–3) leaving behind 1 feet stubs, in the month of December-January. With this standardized technology, the old vines can be successfully rejuvenated, and the grape growers can get good returns from the senile vineyards. The developed technology will also change the trend of uprooting old vineyards and can further be utilized for top working with new improved varieties.
