Today, the UT Houston Health Science Center's Department of Anesthesiology has 15 anesthesiology critical care doctors spanning seven ICUs, which is important when working with Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center – home to the busiest trauma center in the country. The McGovern Medical School is the ninth-largest and most diverse medical school in the country, with one of the largest anesthesiology training programs. The school currently has over 1,200 residents and fellows. Reinvention lies at the heart of the UT Houston Health Science Center and the McGovern Medical School.
