Abstract

This paper summarizes results of our continuing research study aimed to verify immediate effects of single whole body vibration (WBV) training unit on quality of gait kinematics in children patients suffering from various neurological disorders. Gait kinematics of eight children was analysed using marker-free human motion analysis system before WBV exposure and then afterwards to compare potential differences. Individual changes in gait patterns indicated immediate short-time effect on gait kinematics as the results showed significant positive changes in four here included patients. Other two patients registered positive changes, but these changes were not statistically significant. Two of the patients registered worsening of gait symmetry after exposure of WBV training unit.
