Abstract
Back in July, the government proposed that the current post-registration education and practice (PREP) periodic registration scheme for nurses should be replaced by a system run by employers using the NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF). As consultation on the Foster review of non-medical healthcare professionals’ regulation ended last week, unions made it clear they are against the proposal to replace PREP with this new ‘revalidation’ scheme.
