Abstract
1. Glutamate and aspartate, and the Krebs cycle intermediates, in contrast to mammalian skeletal muscle, decreased the activity of lactic dehydrogenase in the adductor muscle of the giant scallop. 2. An explanation for these observed effects is offered.
