Abstract
The National Nursing Research Unit (NNRU) has published its scoping exercise into the regulation of healthcare support workers for the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) (Griffiths and Robinson, 2010). The report should help inform discussions with key stakeholders about this important issue by providing a wide-ranging, UK-wide evidence base, and help us move towards action on the important issues raised.
