Abstract
In this paper, the idea of regular sequences of elements in a noetherian local ring is extended to the notion of regular sequences of ideals. First, we give some nice examples of regular sequences of ideals. Next, we prove a theorem that establishes a close connection between regular sequences of elements and regular sequences of ideals, when the latter are perfect ideals and the ring is regular.
