Abstract

Based on the regression analysis of electrocapillary curves (ECC) in ethylformate solutions, it is shown that within the experimental error the adsorption of this substance on a mercury electrode corresponds to the model of two parallel capacitors. Moreover, in contrast to the graphical analysis of ECC carried out earlier, this description of experimental data requires the knowledge of only five main parameters of this model. The adsorption parameters found for this system agree with parameters found earlier by the graphical analysis of differential capacitance curves.
