Abstract

Lipases from porcine pancreas and Candida cylindracea, suspended in different organic solvents have been used to deacetylate peracetates of benzyl phenyl ketones (desoxybenzoins). High regioselectivity in the reactions has been observed, also the nature of the solvent affects the rate of the reaction.
