Abstract

Sonograms have been made of the calls of the male musk duck in Western Australia and in New South Wales. Differences between calls have been correlated with regional differences in visual signals. It is suggested that the populations of musk duck in Western Australia and in south-eastern Australia have been separated for a long period.
