Abstract

Do aesthetic practices differ across the UK? Are there any regions which should be considered trendsetters that would help practitioners to predict the future needs of their patients? The answers to these questions are far more complex then may be perceived at first glance; however, the survey findings discussed in this paper provide practitioners with a starting point. Over a period of 1 month, aesthetic practices from across the UK were invited to complete a basic survey aimed at understanding the demand for botulinum toxin and dermal filler treatments. For dermal fillers, this was further broken down into the types of treatments performed. Data analysis identified some changes in popular procedures over the past 12 months, potentially moving away from botulinum toxin treatments and filling of the nasolabial folds. However, further studies with tighter controls are necessary to ascertain any concrete findings of this nature.
