Abstract
Analysis of somatic cell hybrids derived from fusion of human lymphocytes with a karyotype of 46,XX,t(3;4) (q27;q25) to a pseudo-tetraploid HPRT deficient Chinese hamster line, CH 1103, has permitted assignment of the human phosphoglucomutase-2 locus (PGM 2) to the pter→q25 region of chromosome 4. This is the first confirmation of the assignment of this locus to chromosome 4 and, combined with earlier mapping studies of MeAlpine et al., permits localization of the PGM 2 to the 4p14→q25 region.
