Abstract

The article presents the results of in­depth interviews with the editors of regional print publications of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Information was obtained related to the content of media products, digitalization, work on the Internet, state support of the media, relations with the authorities and local businesses, earnings, and media effects. The purpose of the work is to study the role of local publications in the life of the population of the district and determine the specifics of the work of such publications. To identify the state and problems of functioning of the local periodicals media market in the conditions of digitalization, leading players were selected from 35 districts of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia): the respondents were the chief editors of newspapers of the central districts (Amginsky, Megino­Kangalassky, Namsky); southern districts (Lensky, Neryungrinsky, Olekminsky); northern (Arctic) districts (Ust­Yansky, Nizhnekolymsky, Srednekolymsky, Anabarsky); western districts (Vilyuysky, Nyurbinsky, Suntarsky). The study was conducted by the method of in­depth individual interviewing of respondents. A total of 13 respondents were interviewed. The quantitative analysis of the obtained data was carried out according to the methodology of O. V. Chudnova.
