Abstract
1.The concentrations of glucose in plasma and whole blood were compared and it was found that the mean concentration of glucose in plasma is about 4% higher than it is in whole blood. It has been conjectured that the concentration of glucose in whole blood is inversely proportional to the hematocrit.2.If this is true the difference between whole blood and plasma glucose values should be predictable from the hematocrit. No such relationship could be discovered, the two sets of figures varied independently and in a completely random manner.
