Abstract

Total blood flow to a viable abdominal wall pedicle flap in the dog increases during the first 90 min after operation. However, regional blood flow varies within the flap, as demonstrated by differences in distribution of radioactively tagged microspheres. These data document a complex pattern of regional blood flow, suggesting further investigation using this or similar animal models.
