Abstract

Based on data of all sub-industries of equipment manufacturing industry of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region and Yangtze River Delta Region in 2013–2014, this paper conducted an empirical analysis of pure technical efficiency, comprehensive technical efficiency, scale efficiency, intra-region cooperation efficiency and inter-region cooperation efficiency of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region and Yangtze River Delta Region utilizing MaxDEA Basic 6.6 software according to three DEA models of pure technical efficiency, comprehensive technical efficiency and cooperation technical efficiency. The research found: all sub-industries of equipment manufacturing industry of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region had high cooperative stability, but with unbalanced regional development, and their comprehensive technical efficiency can be increased through both scale effect and technical innovation. All sub-industries of equipment manufacturing industry of Yangtze River Delta Region had balanced regional development, with high intra-region cooperation efficiency and cooperation efficiency among all sub-industries, however, the return to scale and inter-region cooperation benefits presented a decreasing trend, showing that the equipment manufacturing industry of Yangtze River Delta Region cannot increase its efficiency by expanding the scale, so it needed to drive the improvement of its technical innovation ability by independent technical innovation.
