Abstract

In the context of modern economic conditions, which are marked by a significant loss of the resource base, the formation, use, and preservation of enterprises' food potential emerge as a priority task. However, the existing mechanism of managing this potential falls short of fully meeting the tasks of increasing work efficiency, achieving high results, and fostering further development. This research underscores the crucial role of food potential in the efficient operation of enterprises, as it can be seen as a tool for maximizing profit and enhancing competitiveness, thereby highlighting its practical implications. Forming the enterprise's potential is one of the directions of its economic strategy. It involves creating and organizing a system of resources and competencies in such a way that the result of their interaction is a success factor in achieving the enterprise's strategic, tactical, and operational goals. The article's purpose is to analyze the impact of regional features on the formation and use of food potential in modern conditions. The research process applied the methods of comparison, analysis, theoretical generalization, and logical generalization. The dialectical research method became the methodological basis. The article highlights scientific views on the interpretation of the concept of "food potential," and it is clarified that it is a set of resources and capabilities of an enterprise to carry out its practical activities to obtain maximum profit; problematic aspects of the formation and use of the food potential of enterprises in modern economic conditions are analyzed; it has been proven that the use of food potential is influenced by existing regional features that shape the production directions of enterprises to ensure their profitable activity; the main principles of managing the food potential of economic entities within the framework of the marketing approach, which determines the orientation of the formation of the company's capabilities on the consumer, are highlighted.
