Abstract

The meanings of the concept region, the determination criteria and types of region are firstly treated in the pre-university education curriculum in Geography. Further developments about the meaning and practice role of this concept are treated widely in universities in focus of geographic studies but not only. Recently the Albanian meaning of region has changed as a result of historical, political, demographical and economic factors, reflected even at relations (social-economic) decided with the border countries. At the curriculum of high school in the subject of Geography, it is aimed as right as possible the treatment of natural features, demographical and economic of geographical regions of Albania and other Albanian regions. Today in the conditions when the third sector of economy has taken advantage, is needed the practice treatment of touristic developments in these regions. This will provide the knowledge of youth with the natural environment, natural and human potentials of Albanian regions , and the opportunity of future economic use and interregional co-operation. This work reflects the way, how geographic and trans boundary regions, are being treated today in the curriculum of high school, shortcomings and opportunities of their practical treatment through lending and curricular projects. Such examples would help every actor in the field of pre-university and university education, in the preparation of the younger generation for regional collaboration (inside and out of the border) as one of the criteria’s for the integration in the EU.
