Abstract

In three-dimensional video, several cameras capture the same scene from different viewpoints, leading to illumination imsmatch between views. This illumination mismatch can decrease PSNR and bring about optical figure to the viewers. In this paper, we propose a new preprocessing method for compensating illumination. For illumination compensation, we calculate pixel value’s histogram of image. However histogram matching algorithm suffer from the occlusion area. Therefore, we propose a lower complexity IC algorithm considering occlusion areas. We separate the image using movement of sequence and compensate it with histogram mapping (HM) and time-constant HM. The experimental results show that the proposed illumination compensation algorithm provides better image quality and coding performance.
