Abstract

Abstract ‘Regale’ is a black-fruited Vitis rotundifolia Michx. cultivar released jointly by the North Carolina Agricultural Research Service and the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station. It is perfect-flowered, self-fruitful, high-yielding, winter-hardy, vigorous and resistant to berry shatter. It ripens approximately 10 days after ‘Carlos’ and ‘Noble’ and can be made into red wine, juice, or jelly. It has been resistant to Pierce's disease in Florida, Mississippi, and North Carolina.
