Abstract
A case of Beauveria bassiana keratitis refractory to treatment with topical and systemic antifungal agents that demonstrated high-sensitivity profiles was presented. Clinical resolution was achieved within 1 month after the implementation of intrastromal injections of amphotericin B and micafungin. Keratitis from B. bassiana is a rare fungal species without a well-defined management strategy. To our knowledge, no previous reports have described the effectiveness or therapeutic use of intrastromal micafungin. This case report highlights a previously unreported treatment for cases of refractory keratitis from this rare fungal infection.
